*Our family circle was recently approved as a United Episcopal congregation, aka., Littlewood Chapel. The oratory continues as a kind of class-meeting, informing the substance of our UE prochapel, yet an official distinction remains.

The Bartlett family is a Free Protestant household following the Anglican Way. The Oratory was inspired by lectures on family formation in 2012 at the Anglican Way InstituteMr. Bartlett studies at Cranmer House with a special interest in American Methodism and Protestant Union schemes. Some of this research will be included in the Albion Papers.

During the week our family sings, prays, and studies the Christian faith according to the American Prayer Book and Standard Bible. Twice a month we serve food to the homeless in downtown San Jose. The Prayer & Bible Group (leaflet at the right) is our effort to gather like-minded friends and families from the Rosegarden or other neighborhoods. We are not self-sufficient but encourage a strong lay ministry, “churchly” or not.

The Bartlett’s regular worship is preferably with traditional Anglicans and, where possible, bible-believing Methodists. As Wesley reminded his Methodist people,“the first Message of all our Preachers is to the lost Sheep of the Church of England”.
